Joe, right on integrity should not be for sale. I don’t mind if the blogger whose post I am reading got a freebie but tell me. It is common for a blogger to say this company sent me this or invited me to dine for free and here is my review. Often that is the only way the blogger would have the chance to review that item. Example the W180,000 burger. I know that you love what you are doing here (which is what makes it good). But without a freebie how could you justify the expense just for one blog post?

I have seen some food writers that crossed the line and were in full attack mode. Sorry I just don’t understand that, it makes the writer sound petty.

Use of photos without respecting copyright is a big deal to me. As a hobby I post photos of food I cook on Flickr. I have people using them in personal blogs. They link them back to me and it is cool with me. In fact it is fun and I have bumped into some interesting people. For the most part if a professional blogger wanted to use one of my photos I would give permission as long as they say that it is mine. But if you have a blog that blurs the line of personal / professional ask first.

Rock on, brother. While I've not seen a 'travel blog' code of ethics, I've not yet been paid to visit or endorse a place / event (guess I'm not quite there yet!). If and when that happens, there will be an announcement to disclose that sort of connection. Cheers.
