The Bobster has won ZenKimchi’s first photo contest with his saliva-inducing shot of DalkGalbi. He wins a ZenKimchi shirt of his choice.We will be holding another photo contest at our Flickr group soon. You can view a slideshow of the latest photos from the group on the ZKFJ front page.

Joe McPherson is the founding editor of ZenKimchi. He is also dining editor for 10 Magazine and writes and consults for multiple publications. He is the only non-Korean judge for the Korean section of the Miele Guide--but don't ever call him a food critic.

    I just got around to noticing this right now … wanna say how thrilling it is to be included next to some of the really great photographers we have around here.

    It’s true that I campaigned a bit for this on FB but several of my friends there told me that they thought the picture deserved their vote on its merits – my own hope is that a few new people got to learn about how the Zenkimchi site by follwing the links I submetted there.

    I’m not a photographer. I take snapshots and sometimes I have just enough wit to know which accidents deserve to be saved. As Tom Petty said, “Even the shutterbugs get lucky sometimes.” (Or something like that.)
