“Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” in Korea

shameless self promotion Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern in Korea

I asked if you could guess which celebrity chef was in Korea. One of you guessed correctly.

For a couple of weeks, Eun Jeong, a few valuable friends and I have been helping the production of “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” set up locations, food suggestions, research and on-air guides for their shoot in Korea. Eun Jeong herself, along with our friends Eun-hak and Daniel (Seoul Eats) got to be on the show eating “bizarre foods” (what we usually call “lunch”).

We can’t give away what’s going to be on the show yet, but I can say right now that it promises to be the best food show about Korea, even better than the Korea shows done by “The Thirsty Traveler” (“So, This is Soju“) and “Anthony Bourdain No Reservations.” Now, I think both those shows did well, so this is saying a lot.

The episode comes out on the Travel Channel sometime between December and February. If you can’t get the show where you are, you can download it on iTunes like I do.

I’m a bit late on the comment of this post. When I was visiting my gf in Korea back in May/June, her university snack store had these. I tried the apple flavor one which was ok. You know Korea has a huge variety of Popsicles but for some reason they all have cream. I think Koreans love dairy products like yogurts, veggiemilks and cream popsicles. I still haven’t been able to find a nice simple fruit flavored popsicle that i like in Korea haha. Maybe it’s because im soo used to the cheap fruit popsicles you can get here in canada.

Did the episode come out? Season 4 kicks off and Tanzania is first.

I know there are some episodes that are not aired.

Awesome – I’ve been addicted to the series since “discovering” it a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I were wondering when and if they were going to do a Seoul edition.

We have at least a dozen delicacies that (we think) will be on the show – looking forward to your posts!
