This little place we stumbled upon after some great pork at a favorite barbecue joint. Little did we know that it was pretty famous, if the autographs on the wall were any indication. And we see why. The obvious specialty of the house is the Makguksu, chilled buckwheat noodles similar to Naengmyeon. What makes this place special is the broth. It’s as beefy as a French consomme. The noodles are always hardy and sturdy, and each condiment serves a function. They’re not just thrown in there. They also have buckwheat pancakes (MemilJeon 메밀전) and a floral buckwheat flower makkoli. This is the perfect “2-cha” on a night out, and I regularly take out-of-towners here. They always leave happy.
