A Wolfhound burger with an Alley Kat beer is one of the greatest joys in Seoul. The Wolfhound is an Irish pub that has one of the best burgers in Korea. And unlike other more popular establishments, it doesn’t empty your bank account. Located in one of Itaewon’s back streets, the Wolfhound is known as the less noisy alternative to Gecko’s Terrace for those in the know. They’ve recently gone through renovations and revamped their menu. Still their classics are the best. The fish and chips have gotten praise as the best in town from the executive chef at the W Hotel (who happens to be Irish). The burger was named #1 by Seoul Eats. Their big breakfast is the closest you get in Korea to a full English. The deluxe version includes a coffee with a shot of Irish whisky. The Wolfhound is steadily becoming more popular, so it can sometimes reach Gecko’s crowd status. The charm of the pub is on quiet Sunday afternoons and weeknights. It’s a great place to catch up with old friends. Oh, and don’t let the name and the visuals of the Toad in the Hole scare you off. It’s worth a try.

Toad in the Hole

Big Breakfast

I think the chef or something has changed because the last time I went it just wasn’t very good. I ordered the bangers and mash and the sausages were like breakfast links and the gravy seemed like it was out of a package. Sigh…it makes me sad. I think they need to go back to the original recipe.
