This may be the only waterfront dining option in Seoul. Fradia sits literally on the water at Hangang Park, which hugs the southern bank of the river north of Apgujeong. As of now, it’s a bit difficult to get to, but that’s supposed to change soon. Fradia makes a good dining option for people trying to impress a date. The night view is spectacular. The food is highly expensive for what you get. It’s dressed up Italian fare that’s a bit Koreanized. No, there’s no sugar on the garlic bread, but it does seem like presentation took precedence over seasoning. All the dishes we tried could have used a dash more salt. Nonetheless, the Tenderloin Pasta in Gorgonzola Cream Sauce is something to try. Chunks of lean beef in a blue-cheesey cream sauce satisfies. The service is okay. It’s formal but a little awkward, like a kid wearing a suit on Easter Sunday. It has great potential if they put a little more punch in the seasoning and lowered the prices a bit. Otherwise, it comes across as a pretentious wanna-be that’s banking on its prime location on a dirty river.
