Cuisine: Spanish

Price:$$$

Reservations: Optional

Suggested Items: Paella, White Anchovies in Vinegar, Jamon, Cheese Platter

It’s hard to find Spanish cuisine in Korea. This tapas bar in trendy Garosu-gil is an import from Japan. You’ll actually hear a good bit of Japanese behind the bar. The entrance displays two legs of jamon, and you can order yourself a few slices from them. The food is pricey here, so don’t come for dinner. It’s more of a place to go afterwards. The paella is a decent price and filling, though. The white anchovies in vinegar are strong and compelling. The initial flavor is puckering and fishy, but you crave another bite soon after. The cheese platter contains a great variety not usually found in Korea. Josh from Wine Korea is ho-hum about the wine list. I also found the service to be snooty–as if it was a privilege for us to be in their restaurant, even though it was practically empty on a Saturday night.
