Chef Meili

Cuisine: Austrian
Price: $$
Reservations: Optional
Suggested Items: Wienerschnitzel, Chateaubriand, all the desserts
Chef Meili opened a few years ago, injecting energy into Teutonic cuisine in Seoul. Splitting duties between the main restaurant, the full-service butcher downstairs and catering, Chef Christian Meilinger is a busy man. The main restaurant serves classic Austrian dishes, like a plate-covering Wienerschnitzel with cranberry sauce and a massive sausage plate. Give him ample time, and he’ll whip up a classic European Chateaubriand beef fillet with all the trimmings and carve it tableside. Even if you have already eaten, Chef Meili is one of the best stops in town for dessert. You must try the Apple Streudel and the Sachertorte or whatever special they have that’s off the menu. Make sure to ask.
