Candlelight Vigils Protesting Beef from New Zealand?

Kiwi beef tainted with the insecticide endosulfan has been found by South Korean food safety inspectors (yes, I’m also surprised they exist).  In 2005, a similar incident happened, resulting in a massive recall.

No word if there will be protests against tainted Kiwi beef.

Disturbing Sighting at Hamilton Pool

Lao-Ocean-Girl recently went to the Hamilton Pool.  What she saw there was disturbing and possibly NSFW.

A hint?  How about a quote:

“It makes a Speedo look like a padded bra.”

She has pictures of the nightmarish sight.

Unfortunately, no pics of Lao-Ocean-Girl herself in a swimsuit this time.

Stephanie White returns with an update on her son, Michael White, who died mysteriously in a sauna in Daegu.  She clarifies points she made in her first appearance and details the results of the government’s autopsy.  The autopsy itself has raised enough questions to get the U.S. Embassy involved.

What looks like either a systematic cover up or a long series of incompetence and arrogance is disturbing to any foreigner and any parent of a foreigner living in Korea.  A rise in unexplained deaths to foreigners and attacks on foreigners combined with indifference from the authorities should be the top issue to any foreigner living here, whether you’re an English teacher, businessman, professional or laborer.

Ghost Station Opens

I don’t know why I find this stuff fascinating.  Matt at Gusts of Popular Feeling last summer documented Magok subway station, which was built in 1996, briefly opened, and has been closed for 12 years.  Now it’s been reopened after a quick renovation.  Before and after pics commence.
